Higher Ed Partners

Graphite Capital has backed Higher Ed Partners, a fast-growing online programme manager

Higher Ed Partners (“HEP”) partners with Universities to expand access to high-quality higher education through technology-aided learning. As an online programme manager, HEI has the expertise and the capability to plan, design and deliver online degree programmes for its University partners, providing technology and services including academic design, marketing, student recruitment, support and retention.

We have backed a talented and ambitious management team with a decade’s experience of developing Academic Partnerships, a leading US online programme manager. HEI has partnered with multiple Universities, with a focus on the UK market, and is providing hundreds of online degree programmes in a growing range of high demand disciplines. To date, HEI has provided access to higher education over 20,000 online students in partnership with its UK Universities.

Online higher education typically attracts a higher proportion of mature students and full-time professionals than traditional on-campus higher education. These students are often searching for a post-graduate course to expand their career options, or are ‘late access’ students seeking higher education later in life to enter the job market or change career direction through professional courses, such as nursing and computer science. In addition, domestic and international students are attracted by the affordability and greater flexibility of online learning.

The online higher education sector fundamentals are very attractive, with the growth rate of online higher education students being 5x greater than the overall growth rate of students in higher education in the UK. As many Universities strive to develop an online revenue stream in increasingly competitive markets, they seek to apply best practices in marketing, lead generation, content delivery and student retention, which is driving significant growth in the OPM market.
