Graphite led a buy-in/buy-out of sk:n in 2006 when it was an emerging brand in the UK’s nascent non-surgical skincare market. The company operated in a fragmented, fast-growing market. Graphite supported sk:n in expanding its clinic footprint, enhancing its brand image and optimising its operations.
At the time of our exit sk:n had grown into a nationwide chain of clinics offering a range of non-surgical skin and cosmetic treatments including laser-based treatments for hair removal and skin rejuvenation. sk:n had a highly professional and clinical approach which allowed it to offer the very highest standards of care in the non-surgical segment of the cosmetic treatment industry. This approach allowed sk:n to develop a strong, clinically-led brand with a high-quality and premium consumer perception. sk:n pursued a hybrid roll-out/roll-up strategy, opening 22 and acquiring 10 clinics under Graphite’s ownership. As a result, its nationwide coverage increased substantially, creating a strong platform for further growth.
