Transaction Background

In December 2004 Graphite Capital led the management buy-out and buy-in of Aktrion Group.  Aktrion provides outsourced managed services to manufacturing clients, primarily in the printing and automotive sectors.  It employs over 1,700 people and provides staff on contract to customers in the UK and internationally.  Its key services include logistics support, production line support, squality control and engineering and technical service.  Aktrion helps clients improve productivity, increase labour flexibility, reduce operating costs and free up the management team to focus on the core business.

Aktrion has a unique business model which adds a new flexible dimension to the manufacturing industry.  It is ideally placed to take advantage of the expected strong growth in its marketplace.  Historically, the group has provided services mainly to blue chip clients in the print, automotive and engineering sectors but it is now expanding into new sectors.  The business is a market leader in the UK and is developing operations in Germany, Spain, Eastern Europe and the USA.
